🌡️ HOT WEATHER WARNING – KNOW THE SIGNS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION & HEAT STROKE 🌡️The Met Office has issued an Amber Heat Health Warning, with temperatures expected to reach the mid-30s this week and a Red Warning anticipated from Wednesday.While many people enjoy the sunshine, extreme heat can quickly become dangerous, particularly for children, older adults, those with underlying health conditions, and anyone working outdoors.🚨 Heat Exhaustion – A Serious Warning SignHeat exhaustion occurs when the body overheats above 38°C and can develop into life-threatening heat stroke if left untreated.Common signs include:✅ Headache✅ Dizziness or tunnel vision✅ Muscle cramps✅ Excessive sweating✅ Nausea or vomiting✅ Fast breathing and pulse✅ Extreme tiredness or weakness✅ Difficulty standing or walking🩹 First Aid – Remember "Shade, Strip, Spray, Fan" (3S,F)➡️ Move them into the shade➡️ Remove excess clothing➡️ Spray or sponge the skin with cool water➡️ Fan vigorously to aid cooling💧 Encourage water if they are fully conscious.📞 Seek medical advice and continue to monitor them.🚑 Heat Stroke – A Medical EmergencyHeat stroke occurs when the body's cooling system fails. It can cause severe organ damage and can be fatal.Warning signs include:🔴 Temperature above 40°C🔴 Confusion or unusual behaviour🔴 Agitation or disorientation🔴 Seizures🔴 Collapse or unconsciousness🩹 First Aid for Heat Stroke➡️ Call 999 immediately➡️ Move the casualty to a cooler area➡️ Remove excess clothing➡️ Start active cooling immediately using any available method:*️ Cold water immersion*️ Cold water and fan*️ Ice packs* Cold shower* Cooling aidsContinue cooling while awaiting emergency help.⚠️ In all cases of suspected heat exhaustion or heat stroke, seek medical advice early via 111 or 999.Please keep an eye on vulnerable family members, neighbours, colleagues and friends during this period of extreme heat.#HeatSafety #HeatExhaustion #HeatStroke #FirstAid #MetOffice #HotWeather #StaySafe #RGLSafety #FirstAidTraining ...
